The Tongue

THE TONGUE

Balanced like a priceless spinning wheel
The feelings of a man inside his soul doth reel.
So keep respectfully some distance apart
And never crudely shock another person's heart.

Indeed don't get too familiar with anyone you know,
For senseless jests have often turned a friend into a foe.
What to you may be some amusing joke,
Could well upset a host of other folk.

So keep you language clean and don't offend
Remember your little tongue can make or break your friend.
Flippant idle words, who can control the tide
They start a flowing all unseen inside.

And remember when all is said and done below
The true worth of a man will only show
Not so much by what he had to say
But how he lived his life from day to day!

They are the Ten Commandments, not ten suggestions !!!

FYI...
The Greatest Commandments
Many times I hear Christians saying that the two greatest commandments that Jesus gave replaces the ten commandments of the Old Testament. Is this true? In a word, no! Because Jesus was merely summing up the ten commandments, not replacing them. It's so clear when you study the New Testament, that Jesus exalted the ten commandments and gave new meaning to them. He did not do away with them and replace them with "another law".
Matthew 22:37-40 ...'Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.'
Did you know that Jesus above is quoting from the Old Testament? And that these same words were given to Israel right after the law was given? ... Deuteronomy 6:5 ...'And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.' ... So tell me this. If Jesus was replacing the ten commandments with the two greatest commandments, then how come we also find the greatest commandment in the Old Testament, right after the law was given? The truth is, Jesus was showing us the CONTINUATION of God's moral law found in the Old Testament and summing it up as a LAW OF LOVE, not replacing it. Of course we are talking about the moral law here, not the ceremonial laws which Christ did away with at the cross (Colossians 2:14).
The Pharisees were very meticulous about keeping the laws of God, ALL 613 of them. But the problem was, they lost sight of the true meaning of their relationship with God, which was love. They completely lost sight of loving God with all their heart, mind, soul and strength, and the law just became this "thing they had to do" in order to be saved. Hence why they were very legalistic. Without that love for God, the external observance of God's Commandments becomes worthless legalism. THIS IS WHAT JESUS WAS TEACHING THEM.
There must first be love in the heart before a person can, in the strength and by the grace of Christ, begin to keep the precepts of God's law. Obedience without love is worthless, which is exactly what the Pharisees practiced. But where love is present, a person will automatically set out to order his life in harmony with the will of God as expressed in His commandments (John 14:15; 15:10).
Obedience does not lead to love, but love DOES lead to obedience.

By saying "Love the Lord with all thy heart, soul and mind", Christ is revealing that the love of God, if truly present in us, will permeate every aspect of our being.
Hang the Law on These Two Commandments
Now many Christians love to quote the verse where Jesus says "on these two commandments hang the law and prophets" to suggest that the law is now "hung" upon the cross and has been done away with. Sure, the ceremonial laws which needed the earthly priestly service was hung upon the cross and is done away with in Christ, but not the ten commandments. By saying "the law and the prophets", Jesus is talking about the Old Testament, and by saying "hang them on the two greatest commandments", He is merely summing up the Old Testament and God's will for us as LOVE GOD SUPREMELY, and LOVE EACH OTHER.
God is not saying that ALL the laws are now hung on the cross and abolished. And the fact that Jesus also said "prophets" proves that he was not doing away with the ten commandments, because we STILL NEED THE PROPHETS TO INTERPRET END TIME EVENTS. So how could the prophets be hung on the cross and done away with? It's impossible! The same goes with the ten commandments, which is summed up by saying the first four are to do with loving God and the last six are to do with loving each other.
Jesus didn't say hang the law and prophets on the cross. He said hang them on these two greatest commandments. In other words, if we are truly keeping these two commandments, then we will keep the ten commandments and what the prophets said.
We've already shown that Jesus was quoting from Deuteronomy 6:5 when quoting the greatest commandments. And Deuteronomy is right after the second reading of the ten commandments. So did all the law hang upon the greatest commandments in the Old Testament? Of course it did! What Moses was saying back then, and what Jesus said in the New Testament is if we love God supremely and love each other as ourselves, then we will keep all Ten Commandments. THIS INCLUDES THE SABBATH COMMANDMENT that the majority of Christians have rejected.
Two Greatest Commandments Replace the Ten?
So does loving the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength END any of the ten commandments? No of course not. This teaching that the ten commandments have been done away with or replaced is from Satan. And the reason Satan fell is because pride arose in his heart and he rebelled against the law of God. And he is making every effort to convince us that it is ok to rebel against God's great moral law contained in the ten commandments. Which is why he has put many of his own "theologians" in place to discredit God's law and replace it with a "wishy washy" love that doesn't produce good works or obedience to God.
Take a look at what Paul says about the commandments to do with loving each other.
Romans 13:9-10 ...'For this, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, you shall love your neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.'
Do you see? Paul is SUMMING UP the 6 commandments to do with loving your neighbor into one command. But does this replace and do away with those 6 commandments? Of course not. Paul is just summing them up and showing that they are commandments of love. And that is exactly what Jesus was doing with the two greatest commandments.
The two greatest commandments in no way do away with the ten commandments written by God's own finger on the stone tablets. Those ten commandments of love (first four about loving God, and the last six about loving your neighbor) still stand today, including the 4th commandment to do with the sabbath day.
So in summary, if you truly love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul, then you will be fulfilling (keeping) the first four of the ten commandments, and if you truly love your neighbor as yourself, then you will be fulfilling (keeping) the last six of the ten commandments. This is the Bible truth about the two greatest commandments.
Hope and Pray you were Blessed :)

Satan the fiery serpent, know your enemy.

Satan the Fiery Serpent!

Readings:
Genesis 3, Isaiah 14: 12: 17

1. Symbols / Icons

Men of all nations use signs, symbols and icons to illustrate and convey ideas and messages. For example:
  • The hourglass icon in computer programs means - wait, an action is being performed.
  • The wine glass sign on a postal parcel means - handle with care.
  • The sword is the universal symbol of war.
  • An innocent lamb is a symbol ofYeshua the Messiah.

2. Leviathan the Serpent

This Sabbath I want to tell of the deadliest symbol of all, the serpent! The 'serpent' symbolizes Satan the Devil. In ordinary warfare a general would win few battles if he didn't understand his enemy. Ignorance of the enemy's strengths and weaknesses could spell disaster. It is the same in spiritual warfare. Ignorance of the Devil, the constraints he works under, his strong points and the tactics he employs could all prove fatal. Notice what the Scriptures say about Satan's power to deceive.
Revelation 12:9: And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, whichdeceiveth the whole world…!”

3. Satan’s Deception

Have you ever looked into the eyes of a snake? Next time you visit a Zoo do so and you will be surprised. Unlike a cow's, dog's or bird's eyes, the eyes of a snake tell of cold intelligence; just like the eyes of a criminal. A snake looks at you as though it were sizing you up; as though it knows exactly what you are thinking and that were it not for the cage, it could and would kill you in a moment. Satan is like that. He can size us up in an instant; and were it not for Yahweh's protection, Satan could kill us all in a flash. Satan's main weapons areblatant falsehood, innuendo, insinuation and doubt. His first attack on mankind was to plant a doubt in Eve's mind:

“Yea, hath God said?”
(Genesis 3: 1)
In other words: Is that what God really said? Are you sure He is telling you all the facts?
How can you be certain that He's not keeping you in ignorance about something important? Perhaps He fears you will become like Him; or even overtake Him in knowledge and wisdom? And since knowledge is power, perhaps God is afraid that you will overtake Him in power? Have you considered that possibility?

Eve was taken in with Satan's reasoning; especially when

“the serpent said unto the woman,
Ye shall not surely die:”

(Genesis 3: 4)
We all know what happened. From the very moment Eve began to doubt God's Word, she was on the slippery slope to death. It is exactly the same today. Those who begin to doubt theWord of God are on extremely dangerous ground.

Temptation

Satan's greatest temptations concern the divinity of Jesus Christ and the real message of the Word of God?   IsJesus really God's Son, God Incarnate? God in human flesh? And can we trust the Word of Godwhen it says that He is?
Matthew 4:1: Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2: And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3: And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4: But he answered and said, IT IS WRITTEN, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5: Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6: And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7: Jesus said unto him, IT IS WRITTEN again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8: Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9: And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10: Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for IT IS WRITTEN, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Here we have three temptations and in all three Jesus answered with theWord of God:
‘It is written.’ ‘It is written.’ ‘It is written.’
Do you suppose that was a coincidence?
The subject concerning how Satan has twisted and misquoted the Real Word of God .

Camouflage

Satan is also a Master at camouflage. He has convinced billions of people that he doesn't even exist. He has even managed to remove the only reference to his real name ‘Lucifer’from modern translations of the Bible.
Isaiah 14:12: How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

4. Satan’s War with Jesus Christ

The result of Eve and Adam's doubt was enmity. Not just enmity between God and Satan, that already existed; but enmity:
  • Between the Woman (God's People) and Satan.
  • Between those who believe there is such a thing as the inspired, preserved and infallible Word of God in existence today; and those who do not believe this to be the case. They believe that though every Bible contains portions of the Word of God, no version can be called the infallible Word of God!
  • Between the ‘woman’s seed,’ theliving Word of God, Jesus Christ, the true Messiah; and theAntichrist, the Son of Perdition, the bogus Messiah.
This enmity will only cease when Satan is taken out of the way.
Genesis 3:15: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and betweenthy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This enmity separates those who believe the Word of God from those who doubt it. Satan's doubt will result in his expulsion from heaven. He will be driven out of heaven with the evil angelic host who have joined him in his doubt and rebellion. When that happens Satan will be confined to earth; and it will be here on earth that he will make his last stand against the written and living Word of God!
Revelation 12:3: And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold agreat red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4: And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5: And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6: And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7: And there was war in heaven:Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8: And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9: And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

5. Satan’s Sins / Pride & Greed

Satan is guilty of many sins; but the worst sin, his first and greatest sin, was and still is - pride! But Satan is about to be humbled before the entire universe. (Job chapter 41) is aboutLeviathan the crooked serpent. That chapter symbolically describes Satan the Devil. It ends with these words:
Job 41:34: He beholdeth all high things; he is a king over all the children of pride.”
Satan's pride drove him to think that he was better than the LORD God who created him. Satan used his position as one of the covering cherubim to amass great possessions, wealth and power. The vehicle Satan used to achieve his goal was merchandise, trade, commodities, money, stocks and shares! These are the tools of his trade. Note these verses:
Ezekiel 28:11: Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
12: Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13: Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14: Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15: Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16: By the multitude of thy MECHANDISE they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.”

6. Satan’s Downfall & Death

Once an extremely handsome and exalted angel in heaven, Satan's pride overcame him. Once he was blessed. Now he is cursed and driven from the presence of the Almighty. Satan’s day is almost ended and he knows it.

Satan is Cursed

Genesis 3:14: “And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field...”

Satan is Humiliated

Genesis 3:14: “...Upon thy belly thou shalt go: and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.”

This points to the humiliation of Satan the proud one. God is well able to humble the proud of heart; because pride is one of the first and worst sins ever committed. (Psalm 44: 25)
Psalm 72:9: “... and his enemies shall lick the dust.”

Satan’s Offspring

Satan has offspring. They are likened to serpents, vipers! Their main objective in life is to exercise authority and power over others and to gain advantage by making merchandise of spiritual things. They have turned religion into a money-making business, a racket! They are a generation of vipers!
Matthew 21:12: And Jesus went into thetemple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13: And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”

Matthew 3:7: But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Matthew 23:33: “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

A Short Time

Revelation 12:12: Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

Satan’s Imprisonment in the Bottomless Pit

When Jesus Christ returns to earth Satan will be imprisoned in theBottomless Pit and held there during the millenniumthe 1000 year Reign of Peace.
Revelation 20:1: And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain in his hand.
2: And he laid hold on the dragon that old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.
3: And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up and set a seal upon him that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed for a little season.

Satan’s Destination … the Lake of Fire!

After the millennium Satan will be released from the bottomless pit. He will then go forth on his final spree of deception. He will then convince the unbelieving host (resurrected at thatsecond resurrection) that he was the one who brought them back to life. Having believed Satan all their lives, they will again believe his word and join him in an all out battle against God and His people. This futile attempt will end with Satan and his followers being cast into the lake of fire!
Revelation 20:7: And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed from his prison.
8: And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9: And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.
10: And the Devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Satan’s Death

To be sure Satan has hurt the Son of God. He has bruised his heel. But in the final analysis it will be Satan who will have suffered the death blow. The seed of the woman (Jesus Christ) will bruise Satan’s head. This means that Christ will put Satan to death!
Genesis 3:15: “...It (the seed of the woman, the Messiahshall bruise thy (Satan's) head, and thou shalt bruise his heel,
Yes Satan is scheduled for death, eternal death, death from which he will never return!
The Bible tells us that Satan is to beburned to ashes! I can almost hear people say: 'Isn't Satan immortal?' 'How can he possible die? He's an angel and angels don't die.'
The fact is, Satan is not immortal. He is going to die a horrible death in the 'Lake of Fire' and he knows it. The Bible tells us that God only hath immortality (1 Timothy 6:16). Let's find out what the Bible says about Satan's death.
Ezekiel 28:17: Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18: Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I WILL BRING THEE TO ASHES upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19: All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, andNEVER SHALT THOU BE ANY MORE.”

Isaiah 27:1: In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall SLAY the dragon that is in the sea.”

7. The Serpent’s Sting & the Antidote

The whole human race has been stung by the fiery Serpent Satan. It's a fatal sting; but there is one cure. If you fail to apply that cure, you will most certainly die. That cure is to look to the Saviour, Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.”
(1 Peter 2: 24)
What this means is that the Lord Jesus Christ shouldered the sins of humanity as though they were His own sins! And though in Himself He was sinless, yet by the very act of shouldering man's sins He appeared to Almighty God His Father as asinful serpent worthy of death! This almost incomprehensible spiritual transaction was dramatised in the following story.
Numbers 21:5: And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
6: And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
7: Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
8: And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
9: And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

John 3:14: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
What does this all mean to us living in the 21st century?   It means this:
  • We have all been stung by the Fiery Serpent Satan.
  • It is a fatal sting. But there is a cure - only one!
  • That cure is to Look to Yeshua, (Jesus) the One who bare our sins on that cursed tree - the cross!
  • Don't delay; because the venom of death is coursing through your veins at this very moment; and it's only a matter of time before you die.So look to the Saviour before it's too late! Believe on Him, Trust Him with your life. All it takes to live is a single look, a single prayer! What could be easier?   For further information see Salvation.
More information about Satan. (Lucifer)
Once you put your faith in the Saviour, you need never fear thefiery serpent again; nor his offspring the 'brood of vipers,' that is, those who make merchandise of religion and who are described in Scripture as the 'children of the Devil.
Luke 10:19: Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
James 4:7: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

AMEN!

~ The Harvest ~

    THE HARVEST

There is a law, I see it all around.
In every plant, that's growing in the ground,
And every child, this simple law has known,
That you shall reap - reap what you have sown.
On that great day - that final harvest day.
When each alone - shall stand before the throne,
And only then - the faithful will be known
When we shall reap - reap what we have sown.
The heart of man is like a garden rare,
With plants both good - and evil growing there.
Yet oh so few this simple fact have known,
That in our lives - we reap what we have sown.
Come plant the truth of Christ within your heart,
His ageless life, to you He will impart.
And mortal man no greater truth has known,
Eternal life: we shall reap what He has sown!
hope and pray you were blessed.

God is just a prayer away !

When we feel like crying out, "God, where are You?" It is good to know that He is just a prayer away.

Jesus kept the Sabbath by doing good .

Jesus Kept the Sabbath by Doing Good

Then Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one thing: is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?" Luke 6:9, NKJV.
It is no violation of the Sabbath to perform works of necessity, as ministering to the sick or aged, and relieving distress. Such works are in perfect harmony with the Sabbath law. Our great Exemplar was ever active upon the Sabbath, when the necessities of the sick and suffering came before Him. The Pharisees, because of this, accused Him of Sabbathbreaking, as do many ministers today who are in opposition to the law of God. But we say, Let God be true, and every man a liar who dares make this charge against the Savior.
Jesus answered the accusation of the Jews thus, "If ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless." He had already declared to them that He had kept His Father's commandments. When He was accused of Sabbathbreaking in the matter of healing the withered hand, He turned upon His accusers with the question "Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill?" In summing up His answer to the questioning of the Pharisees He said, "Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days." Here Christ justified His work as in perfect harmony with the Sabbath law. - The Signs of the Times, February 28, 1878.
Those who hold that Christ abolished the law teach that He broke the Sabbath and justified His disciples in doing the same. Thus they are really taking the same ground as did the caviling Jews. In this they contradict the testimony of Christ Himself, who declared, "I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love" (John 15:10).
Neither the Savior nor His followers broke the law of the Sabbath. Christ was a living representative of the law. No violation of its holy precepts was found in His life.
Looking upon a nation of witnesses who were seeking occasion to condemn Him, He could say unchallenged, "Which of you convicteth me of sin?" (John 8:46, RV)....
"The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath," Jesus said. The institutions that God has established are for the benefit of humankind.... The law of Ten Commandments, of which the Sabbath forms a part, God gave to His people as a blessing. "The Lord commanded us," said Moses, "to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive" (Deuteronomy 6:24).

keeping the Sabbath as a family .

Keeping the Sabbath as a Family
Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 7:9, KJV.
Search the scriptures, parents. Be not only hearers, but doers of the Word. Meet God's standard in the education of your children. Let them see that you are preparing for the Sabbath on the working days of the week. All preparation should be made, every stitch taken, on the six working days; all cooking for the Sabbath should be done on the preparation day. It is possible to do this, and if you make it a rule, you can do it....
Explain your work and its purpose to your children, and let them help themselves and their parents in their preparation to keep the Sabbath according to the commandment. Lead your children to consider the Sabbath a delight, the day of days, the holy of the Lord, honorable....
On Friday the clothing of the children ... should all be laid out by their own hands under the direction of the mother, so that they can dress quickly, without any confusion or rushing about, and hasty speeches.... This is God's holy day; the day that He has set apart to commemorate His creative works; a day which He has sanctified and hallowed....
On the Sabbath, parents should give all the time they can to their children, thus making it a delight. I have seen many families where father, mother, and the older members of the household take themselves away from the younger children, and leave them to amuse themselves as best they can. After a while, the children become weary and go out of doors, and engage in play or some kind of mischief. Thus the Sabbath has no sacred significance to them. In pleasant weather the parents can take their children out for a walk in the fields and forest, and talk to them of the lofty trees, the shrubs and flowers, and teach them that God is the Maker of all these things. Then teach them the reasons for the Sabbath, that it is to commemorate God's created works. After working six days, He rested the seventh, and blessed and hallowed the day of His rest. Thus the most profitable instruction can be given.

What is the idol of your heart ?

It is impossible to understand your heart or your culture if you do not discern the counterfeit gods that influence them. In Romans 1:21-25 we are shown that idolatry is not only one sin among many, but what is fundamentally wrong with the human heart:
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him … .They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator. (Romans 1:21, 25)
Here is a long list of sins that create misery and evil in the world, but they all find their roots in this soil, the inexorable human drive for "god-making." In other words, idolatry is always the reason we ever do anything wrong. No one grasped this better than Martin Luther. In hisLarger Catechism (1528) and also hisTreatise on Good Works he wrote that the Ten Commandments begin with a commandment against idolatry. Why does this come first in the order? Because, he argued, the fundamental motivation behind law-breaking is idolatry. We never break the other commandments without breaking the first one. Why do we ever fail to love or keep promises or live unselfishly? Of course, the general answer is "because we are weak and sinful", but the specific answer in any actual circumstance is that there is something you feel you must have to be happy, that is more important to your heart than God himself. We would not lie unless first we had made something—human approval, reputation, power over others, financial advantage—more important and valuable to our hearts than the grace and favor of God. The secret to change is always to identify and dismantle the basic idols of the heart.
It is also impossible to understand a culture without discerning its idols. It is made clear that idolatry is not simply ritual worship, but a whole sensibility and pattern of life based on making particular finite values and created things into god-like absolutes. In the Bible, therefore, turning from idols always includes a rejection of the culture that the idols produce. God tells Israel that they must not only reject the other nations' gods, but "you shall not follow their practices." (Exodus 23:24) There is no way to challenge idols without doing cultural criticism, and there is no way to do cultural criticism without discerning and challenging idols. A good example of this is the preaching of  Paul in Athens (Acts 17) and Ephesus (Acts 19.) Paul challenged the gods of the city of Ephesus (Acts 19:26) and that led to such an alteration in the spending patterns of new converts that it changed the local economy. That in turn touched off a riot led by local merchants. Contemporary observers have often noted that modern Christians are as materialistic as everyone else in our culture. Could this be because our preaching of the gospel does not, like Paul's, include the exposure of our culture's counterfeit gods?

Identifying idols

I am not asking whether or not you have rival gods. I assume that we all do; they are hidden in every one of us. The question is: What do we do about them? How can we become increasingly clear-sighted rather than being under their delusional influence? How can we be free from our idols so we can make sound decisions and wise choices that are best for us and the people around us? How can we discern our idols?
One way requires that we look at our imagination. It was once said, "Your religion is what you do with your solitude." In other words, the true god of your heart is what your thoughts effortlessly go to when there is nothing else demanding your attention. What do you enjoy day-dreaming about? What is it that occupies your mind when you have nothing else to think about? Do you develop potential scenarios about career advancement? Or material goods such as a dream home? Or a relationship with a particular person? One or two day dreams do not indicate idolatry. Ask rather, what do you habitually think about to get joy and comfort in the privacy of your heart?
IS YOUR HEART FOCUSED ON JESUS ?

God said remember !

Six Days for Us, Only One for God

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.... Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11, NKJV.

At the very beginning of the fourth precept, God said, "Remember," knowing that men and women, in the multitude of their cares and perplexities, would be tempted to excuse themselves from meeting the full requirements of the law or, in the press of worldly business, would forget its sacred importance. "Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work," the usual business of life, for worldly profit or pleasure. These words are very explicit; there can be no mistake.

Brother K, how dare you venture to transgress a commandment so solemn and important? Has the Lord made an exception by which you are absolved from the law He has given to the world? Are your transgressions omitted from the book of record? Has He agreed to excuse your disobedience when the nations come before Him for judgment? Do not for a moment deceive yourself with the thought that your sin will not bring its merited punishment. Your transgressions will be visited with the rod, because you have had the light, yet have walked directly contrary to it. "That servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes."

God has given us six days in which to do our own work and carry on the usual business of life; but He claims one day, which He has set apart and sanctified. He gives it to us as a day in which we may rest from labor and devote ourselves to worship and the improvement of our spiritual condition. What a flagrant outrage it is for us to steal the one sanctified day of Jehovah and appropriate it to our own selfish purposes!

It is the grossest presumption for mortal beings to venture upon a compromise with the Almighty in order to secure their own petty, temporal interests. It is as ruthless a violation of the law to occasionally use the Sabbath for secular business as to entirely reject it; for it is making the Lord's commandments a matter of convenience.
Hope and Pray you were Blessed.

God gave HIS 7th day Sabbath to all man !

The Sabbath Intended for All Humankind

You made known to them Your holy Sabbath, and commanded them precepts, statutes and laws, by the hand of Moses Your servant. Nehemiah 9:14, NKJV.

There are those who hold that the Sabbath was given only for the Jews; but God has never said this. He committed the Sabbath to His people Israel as a sacred trust; but the very fact that the desert of Sinai, and not Palestine, was the place selected by Him in which to proclaim His law reveals that He intended it for all humankind. The law of ten commandments is as old as Creation. Therefore the Sabbath institution has no special relation to the Jews, any more than to all other created beings. God has made the observance of the Sabbath obligatory upon all men and women.

"The sabbath," it is plainly stated, "was made for man." Let everyone, therefore, who is in danger of being deceived on this point give heed to the Word of God rather than the assertions of human beings.

In Eden, God said to Adam concerning the tree of knowledge, "In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." Adam listened to the voice of Satan speaking through his wife; he believed another voice than that which spoke the law in Eden.

Every human being has been placed on trial, as were Adam and Eve in Eden. As the tree of knowledge was placed in the midst of the garden of Eden, so the Sabbath command is placed in the midst of the Decalogue. In regard to the fruit of the tree of knowledge, the restriction was made, "Ye shall not eat of it, ... lest ye die." Of the Sabbath, God said, Ye shall not defile it, but keep it holy. "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." As the tree of knowledge was the test of Adam's obedience, so the fourth command is the test that God has given to prove the loyalty of all His people. The experience of Adam is to be a warning to us so long as time shall last. It warns us not to receive any assurance from the mouth of mortals or of angels that will detract one jot or tittle from the sacred law of Jehovah.
HOPE AND PRAY YOU WERE BLESSED.....

Proverbs 1:7 kjv

Proverbs 1:7King James Version (KJV)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Have You Given Your Heart To Jesus ?

John 14 King James Version (KJV)

14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

The only day that God sanctified as HIS Sabbath

Hear Christ's voice Through the Word

Hear Christ's Voice Through the Word

Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God." Matthew 22:29, NKJV.

The voice of God is speaking to us through His Word, and there are many voices that we will hear; but Christ has said we should beware of them who will say, Here is Christ or there is Christ. Then how shall we know that they have not the truth, unless we bring everything to the Scriptures? Christ has warned us to beware of false prophets who will come to us in His name, saying that they are Christ.

Now, if you should take the position that it is not important for you to understand the Scriptures for yourselves, you will be in danger of being led away with these doctrines. Christ has said that there will be a company who in the day of retributive judgment will say, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?" But Christ will say, "Depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Now, we want to understand what sin is; that it is the transgression of God's law. This is the only definition given in the Scriptures. Therefore we see that those who claim to be led of God, and go right away from Him and His law, do not search the Scriptures. But the Lord will lead His people; for He says that His sheep will follow if they hear His voice, but a stranger will they not follow. Then it becomes us to thoroughly understand the Scriptures. And we will not have to inquire whether others have the truth; for it will be seen in their characters.

The time is coming when Satan will work miracles right in your sight, claiming that he is Christ; and if your feet are not firmly established upon the truth of God, then you will be led away from your foundation. The only safety for you is to search for the truth as for hid treasures. Dig for the truth as you would for treasures in the earth, and present the Word of God, the Bible, before your heavenly Father, and say, Enlighten me; teach me what is truth. And when His Holy Spirit shall come into your hearts, to impress the truth into your souls, you will not let it go easily. - The Review and Herald, April 3, 1888.

True learners accept the Scriptures as God's voice

True Learners Accept the Scriptures as God's Voice

If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31, 32, NKJV.

The young men and women who make the Bible their guide need not mistake the path of duty and of safety. That Book will teach them to preserve their integrity of character, to be truthful, to practice no deception. It will teach them that they must never transgress God's law in order to accomplish a desired object, even though to obey involves a sacrifice. It will teach them that the blessing of heaven will not rest upon them if they depart from the path of right doing; that although some may appear to prosper in disobedience, they will surely reap the fruit of their sowing.

Those only who read the Scriptures as the voice of God speaking to them are true learners. They tremble at the voice of God, for to them it is a living reality. They open their understanding to divine instruction and pray for grace, that they may obtain a preparation for service. As the heavenly torch is placed in their hands, the seekers for truth see their own frailty, their infirmity, the hopelessness of looking to themselves for righteousness. They see that there is in them nothing that can recommend them to God. They pray for the Holy Spirit, the representative of Christ, to be their constant guide, to lead them into all truth. They repeat the promise "The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things" (John 14:26)....

Diligent Bible students will constantly increase in knowledge and discernment. Their intellect will grasp elevated subjects and lay hold of the truth of eternal realities. Their motives of action will be right. They will use their talents of influence to help others to understand more perfectly their God-given responsibilities. Their hearts will be a wellspring of joy as they see success attend their efforts to impart to others the blessings they have received. - Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students, 449-451.
